We are no longer operating as SAMA South Coast

We are pleased to confirm that we are now operating independently under a new name Coastline Martial Arts. This change reflects our commitment to strong governance, transparent safeguarding practices, and a modern, student‑focused approach.

While we previously operated under the SAMA organisation, we have now separated due to differences in direction relating to organisational management. This decision was made thoughtfully and proactively to ensure our students, families, volunteers, and instructors receive the highest standard of care and professionalism.

Our teaching team, training methods, and class structure remain exactly the same — with enhanced safeguarding processes and clearer accountability. We continue to deliver high‑quality martial arts instruction rooted in safety, respect, and personal development.

FAQ's

WIll there be any changes to the syllabus?
• We will be slightly amending our syllabus. These changes will be communicated to students during classes. As always, we ensure we train our students to a high standard.
 
Do I have to start from white belt?
• You will continue at your current grade. For students currently on a Red, White & Blue striped belt – this is the SAMA Belt. We will be replacing it with a Brown & Black belt, at no cost – please email us to let us know you require a new belt, with proof of purchase of a Coastline Martial Arts membership (Or a SAMA South Coast membership - as this will automatically be carried over).
 
What do I do with my SAMA Black belt?
• For SAMA embroidered Black belts, we will replace this for you, at no cost – Please email us to let us know you require a new belt, with proof of purchase of a Coastline Martial Arts membership (Or a SAMA South Coast membership - as this will automatically be carried over).
 
How do I get a Coastline Martial Arts Membership badge and book?
• We will be issuing new membership books and club badges to all students upon purchase of a Coastline Martial Arts membership. (Your old membership book and badge are yours to do whatever you want with).
Additional badges will be available to purchase from our club shop.
• We will transfer your grades from your SAMA Membership book to your new Coastline Martial Arts membership book.
 
Memberships
• If you have already purchased a SAMA South Coast membership and no longer wish to continue training with us, please contact us with your name and your child's name, and we will refund you, no questions asked.
• If you have purchased a SAMA South Coast membership and you do wish to continue training with us, you don’t need to do anything, we have simply changed the url of our booking system. Your login will remain the same as when you registered with our booking partners, Club Admin Pro - https://app.clubadminpro.com/coastlinemartialarts
• If you wish to continue training at our classes, please head to our website (www.coastlinemartialarts.com) to see information regarding our timetable, membership, club shop, and safeguarding information.

Who are we?

Coastline Martial Arts is a family orientated martial arts club, with a focus on karate and kickboxing.

 

 

Where are you based?

We offer a wide range of After School, kids and family classes in the Sussex South Coast area, covering Brighton (Patcham, Coldean, Bevendean, Westdene, Queens Park), Woodingdean, Rottingdean, Peacehaven, Newhaven, Seaford & Lewes.

When can I train?

We teach over 40 classes per week, a mixture of after-school, evening and weekend classes.

How much are classes?

Kids £6    Adults £7

Purchase a Membership

After you have completed your trial, you will need to purchase a membership to continue training. This covers your insurance, public liability, and access to classes and gradings.
